Tricia Ashworth proudly grew up in Burnley, Lancashire, before studying Creative Arts at the University of Northumbria. She has acted in numerous theatre productions including Detox Mansion and Lovesick (Northern Elastic at 24:7 Theatre Festival) as well as an acclaimed production of her own play, The Pressure Cooker, at the Brighton Festival.
Tricia was introduced to poetry at an early age through Miss Valerie’s elocution lessons. (Ee, she speaks reet lovely now. Wouldn’t think she were from Burnley at all.) She has performed at various Manchester spoken word events including: Studio Salford’s Embryo, Central Library’s Open Mic, Green Room’s Freed Up night, BBC Ear Candy at Contact, and was commissioned to write and perform Dyslexic Poets for the Central Library.
